" The fact of the matter is that today, stuff-selling mega-corporations have a huge influence on our daily lives. And because of the competitive nature of our global economy, these corporations are generally only concerned with one thing - the bottom line. That is, maximizing profit, regardless of the social or environmental costs. "

First Post

I thought I'd start with breakfast. My housemate assures me our breakfast will be of interest. Actually to be able to wander out into the garden and return with handfuls of outrageously green, living material is a bit like a dream come true for me.

After many years working with homeless people, arguing with government and bureaucracies and pretty much ignoring my own basic wellbeing, I'm learning how to change my focus.

From the garden to you - our breakfast included a dense toasted rye bread with a little peanut butter or Parmesan and topped rocket, salad burnett, 2 varieties of lettuce and parsley out of the garden.
By picking just the leaves from the lettuce that we intend to eat today and picking from a different plant tomorrow the plant will continue to provide a vital green breakfast for some weeks.
